Oxylabs Review

Oxylabs was founded in Lithuania in 2015 and has grown into a web-intelligence infrastructure company rather than remaining a stand-alone proxy shop. Its direct proxy catalogue covers residential, mobile, ISP, and datacenter networks. A separate product family handles requests on the customer's behalf through Web Unblocker, Web Scraper API, Fast Search API, and a hosted browser. AI Studio and dataset services move further toward prepared extraction and delivered data.

That range matters because the buyer can decide how much of the technical work to retain. Direct proxies provide network access and leave request logic, browser behavior, retries, parsing, and storage to the customer. Web Unblocker manages rotation, retries, fingerprints, and optional JavaScript rendering. Scraper APIs return structured or raw results for supported targets. These are different products, not extra names for the same proxy pool.

The 7 direct services are also more distinct than their labels initially suggest. Residential and Mobile are shared peer pools billed by traffic. ISP Proxies and Shared Datacenter Pay per IP are semi-dedicated, with no more than 3 customers on an address. Dedicated ISP and Dedicated Datacenter reserve static IPs for 1 customer. Shared Datacenter Pay per GB uses a rotating pool instead of assigning a fixed list.

Oxylabs publishes substantial scale figures, including 175 million residential IPs, 20 million mobile IPs, 1.9 million dedicated datacenter IPs, more than 15,000 clients, and more than 500 employees. These figures describe the provider's claimed reach, but do not show how many suitable IPs will be online for a specific country, carrier, ASN, or target at a given moment. The practical distinction between self-service and enterprise access is often more useful: entry plans can be bought directly, while larger quantities, advanced filters, restricted targets, and broader dedicated-datacenter locations may require sales, verification, and negotiated terms.

Oxylabs sells traffic-based access and assigned-IP plans. Public self-service plans and negotiated enterprise orders differ in quantities, geography, and management features.

Trial access varies by service. Residential Proxies can be requested once for 3 days by an individual or 7 days by a verified company. Mobile, semi-dedicated ISP, and Dedicated ISP trials require approval from sales or Customer Success, which sets the duration, IP allowance, traffic, and locations. Dedicated Datacenter uses the same 3-day or 7-day pattern as Residential. A service-specific trial was not confirmed for Shared Datacenter Pay per GB.

Shared Datacenter Pay per IP is different because it has a permanent free plan rather than a temporary trial. The 5 US IPs, 5 GB monthly allowance, and 20-session limit make it a useful account and connection test, but not a sample of Oxylabs' other networks.

Self-service customers purchase a plan in the dashboard, create proxy users, manage allowlisted source IPs, generate endpoints or code examples, and inspect assigned static lists. A request can also be tested from the dashboard before moving credentials into the customer's own software. The self-service agreement allows up to 1 business day after payment for activation, even though many products are normally provisioned through the account interface.

Enterprise onboarding can involve an account team, verification, target review, and separately delivered credentials. Oxylabs applies risk-based checks and may request more information for restricted targets, advanced filters, larger volumes, or negotiated access. Enterprise access may require manual onboarding even when a related self-service plan can be activated directly.

The dashboard covers proxy users, IP allowlisting, endpoint generation, static proxy lists, traffic reporting, user-level limits, plan changes, top-ups, billing details, cancellation, and selected IP replacement. A Teams feature supports an owner and up to 50 active members. Members can use products and most dashboard functions but cannot manage subscriptions or team membership. Each account can belong to only 1 team.

Management APIs are service-specific rather than a single identical interface for all 7 products. Residential and Mobile APIs cover proxy users and usage statistics. The enterprise Dedicated Datacenter API provides allocated subnet data, offline IPs, and replacement history. Access methods, objects, and eligibility differ, so enterprise API capabilities should not be assumed for entry plans.

Oxylabs also offers a Chrome extension and an Android proxy manager. Both can work with outside proxies as well as Oxylabs credentials. Endpoint generators and a Proxy Rotator utility help prepare connections but do not replace subscription, billing, or team controls.

Oxylabs maintains extensive public documentation for each proxy family, including quick starts, authentication, protocols, targeting, sessions, fair-use rules, and dashboard operation. A Help Center answers billing and account questions, while a public status page records current and past incidents. The separation by product is valuable because protocols, traffic rules, geography, and APIs are not identical across the catalogue.

The documentation also makes several limitations easier to find than the marketing pages do. It explains the fair-use concurrency reductions, shorter country-entry sticky sessions, team permissions, target restrictions, and the lack of traffic rollover. The remaining uncertainty is concentrated around same-IP retention and replacement terms for static services, plus whether Residential and Mobile PAYG is currently available through an ordinary checkout.

Public proxy prices are stated in USD and exclude VAT where applicable. Self-service payment methods include credit and debit cards, PayPal, AliPay, Google Pay, and Apple Pay when shown for the account. Wire transfer is arranged through Sales or an Account Manager and may use USD or EUR. Cryptocurrency is not accepted under the current published payment information.

Self-service subscriptions start on the purchase date and renew for equal monthly periods until cancelled. Cancellation leaves access available through the paid period but does not create a refund. Monthly traffic and top-ups expire at the end of the billing cycle without rollover. Static IP plans remain assigned during the active subscription, but public terms do not promise retention through every renewal, quantity change, or replacement.

If payment is missed, the self-service agreement provides a 5-day grace period. IP-based services remain accessible during that time, while traffic-based services can use no more than 5% of the monthly allowance.

An initial eligible self-service subscription can receive a refund when the request is submitted within 3 calendar days. Traffic-based services must remain below 20% of the included allowance on a regular plan or 10% on an Enterprise plan. IP-based services do not have that traffic threshold in the self-service agreement.

PAYG purchases, suspended accounts, chargebacks, payment reversals, and customers who have already received a refund are excluded. Eligible refunds may take up to 15 business days to appear. Cancelling an ordinary subscription only prevents its renewal; it is not itself a refund request.

Enterprise Dedicated Datacenter purchases use stricter terms and are final except for billing errors reported within 30 days. This is another reason not to transfer self-service refund expectations to a negotiated enterprise order.

Oxylabs permits lawful use and can restrict targets, filters, networks, or account access based on risk assessment and compliance requirements. Credentials cannot be shared or resold outside the agreed arrangement. Restricted targets or advanced access may require identity checks and prior approval; buying a plan does not by itself authorize access to every website.

Static plans described as unlimited are governed by fair-use thresholds. Semi-dedicated ISP and datacenter IPs drop from 100 to 10 concurrent sessions per address after 50 GB in a billing month. Dedicated ISP and datacenter IPs receive the same reduction after 100 GB. This does not cut off traffic, but it can materially affect sustained parallel workloads.

The public terms do not provide a generally applicable proxy uptime guarantee with service credits. Published response times, success rates, stability figures, and pool sizes should be read as provider claims rather than contractual performance commitments.

Support is available through live chat and email, with 24/7 availability advertised for customers. Eligible enterprise accounts also receive an Account Manager. Public price cards mention expert assistance, but do not define a contractual initial-response time, resolution time, or separate priority queue.

The public status page provides a useful record of acknowledged incidents across Oxylabs services. It helps distinguish a reported platform problem from an account-specific issue, although status history is not an uptime promise or compensation schedule.

Web Unblocker accepts a target request and manages proxy choice, rotation, retries, fingerprints, and optional JavaScript rendering. Web Scraper API adds target-specific collection and parsing, while Fast Search API focuses on search results. Headless Browser provides hosted browser sessions for Playwright or Puppeteer. These products reduce the amount of request and browser logic the customer must operate, but they are not direct access to a named proxy allocation.

AI Studio contains tools for assisted scraping, crawling, browsing, search, and site mapping. OxyCopilot is a free assistant inside the Web Scraper API Playground. Dataset and managed-acquisition services deliver prepared data instead of proxy credentials. Oxylabs also promotes a sales-led High-Bandwidth Proxies offer, but does not present it as a distinct self-service network.

The free Chrome extension, Android proxy manager, endpoint generators, SDKs, and other developer utilities help use existing services. The permanent 5-IP datacenter plan remains part of Shared Datacenter Pay per IP rather than an additional product.
